Q: How do I put pictures on GrandCare TV?
A: With your GrandCare username and password, you can log in. A main menu will pop-up. From there, click on "TV". The system will take you through an easy wizard to add each individual picture. You can make directories to keep your photos organized. Add pictures often to help keep your loved one engaged.

Q: Can multiple caregivers use GrandCare?
A: Of course! Each family will be issued a username and password to log onto the GrandCare website. The entire family can add notes, pictures & calendar events to their loved one's television screen. The caregivers can also simultaneously monitor the various sensors placed around the home. All of this can be done from multiple locations, simultaneously, from anywhere in the world!

Q: Can multiple caregivers alternate who is "on call" for alerts?
A: Yes. The GrandCare website has an easy form for specifying the phone numbers/email addresses that GrandCare will contact and in what order. If the first person on the list does not acknowledge the call, the system will contact the next person on the list.

Q: What if I don't answer GrandCare's Alert Call?
A: When GrandCare Systems makes a call, the receiver has to push "1" to confirm the phone call. This feature can distinguish answering machines from a live person on the other end. If the call is not confirmed, GrandCare Systems will call each additional number in the order submitted by the caregiver.

Q: My mother uses email. Can she still benefit from GrandCare?
A: Yes! GrandCare is a perfect fit for independent seniors who are still very capable of living a normal life, but perhaps feel a bit of isolation and would like occasional reminders. GrandCare TV is a fun way for you to keep a family photo album with cute notes and reminders right on your mother's tv. Not to mention, it's always good "peace of mind" for caregivers to know that their loved one is safe and happy at home!

Q: What if my cell phone cuts out when an alert call comes in?
A: The caregiver must press a button to confirm an Alert call. If you are unable to complete the acknowledgement, GrandCare will continue calling the numbers in order as submitted by the caregiver until the call is acknowledged.

Q: Can I choose how I want to be alerted by GrandCare Systems.
A: Yes. You can choose to be alerted by telephone, cell phone, email or all of the above. Change these options at any time by logging into the grandcare website and clicking on "options".

Q: What happens if my mother's Internet Connection goes down?
A: GrandCare checks every few seconds to make sure there is live communication with the GrandCare box in your loved one's home. If there is no response, the caregiver will be immediately alerted.

Q: Does my mother have to be living at home to use GrandCare?
A: No, GrandCare can work almost anywhere as long as your mother has a private telephone line and an Internet connection. She can live in her own home, apartment, condo, in an independent living facility, in a group home or in an assisted living facility.

Q: Where should I put the motion detectors?
A: Put motion detectors where normal daily living occurs. Usually we suggest one detector in the kitchen, bathroom, master bedroom, and in the living room. Sometimes caregivers choose to put a motion detector in the medicine cabinet to monitor whether medications have been accessed.
