GrandCare Systems featured on “Into Tomorrow” by Dave Graveline – from EHX

I ran across this video today while searching online and thought I’d share! It’s a great little clip of two of our GrandCare team members giving a demonstration back in March 2011 at EHX: The CEPRO event in Orlando. GrandCare R&D team member, Nick Hall and GrandCare Las Vegas Sales Rep, Brietta Smith, were interviewed by Dave Graveline & Rob Almanza from Into Tomorrow about the GrandCare wellness sensors (namely the blood pressure device) and the newer integration of the Rx Tender, Medication Dispenser.

Home Health Tech WINS again!!!

I saw this today and realized how much our home health technology industry is grabbing everyone and DEMANDING attention!!!

3 Things we Learned at EHX

1) Size doesn’t necessarily matter

Ok, so you have probably heard by now that this year at EHX Spring in Orlando was much smaller in size than previous years. You also may have noticed that many of the larger players in the industry were a no-show. So as you might expect, there were those who felt disappointed. In contrast, our opinion is that despite its overall size, the show was packed with quality attendees and motivated exhibitors, most of which were eager to continue advancing an industry comeback from the darker days of the recession. So all in all, we say it was a smaller yet ‘different’ show… and we mean different in a good way.

2) New opportunities will boost the industry
If you’re not paying attention to Digital Healthcare, Digital Signage, and/or new retrofit opportunities, maybe it’s time you should. A clear winner of attention at the show was the New Opportunities section which featured a host of new technologies and ideas to expand the dealers list of services. We get a very strong impression that the days of ‘Entertainment’ being the number one driving force behind the industry are numbered. We live in a time where practicality is playing a much larger role and this is where services such as Digital Healthcare and Security begin to expand their share of the market.

3) Dealer-to-Dealer panel discussions were a big hit

Now, if you attended the show and didn’t sit down at one of the many Dealer-to-Dealer panel discussions… then yes, you likely did walk away thinking EHX wasn’t worth your time. On the other hand if you did take advantage of the included discussions and presentations, then you may have taken more from this show than any other in the past. The show featured everything from Targeting the Retrofit market to Getting Started in Digital Healthcare to EPA Lead Paint Training and many many others. Not surprisingly, these discussions were very popular and very well attended.

ASA/ Boomer Summit wrap-up

Got back late Friday night from the ASA and Boomer Summit In Chicago! It was an exciting, exhausting and fun-filled, action-packed 3 days.

Thursday morning was an AgeTek board meeting – getting ready for the big launch later that day. Thursday afternoon was when the boomer summit boot camp sessions began.

I spoke on a panel about social media and how to best use it for business. It was a 3 hour panel. After that, I rushed to the AgeTek launch down the hall.

It was our official AgeTek Industry Alliance meeting! Standing room only – it was an enormous success! Everyone was enthusiastic and ready to work together – a truly historic step for our industry! We all left with tshirts and directly after this had to head to the speaker reception put on by Mary Furlong & Associates.

After a full day and evening of networking, great conversations and new friends, we turned in.

Friday was the Boomer Summit – GrandCare had an exhibit table, but we also had to work the speaker rooms, helping moderators get started and set up in the beginning of each session.
Lunch with the experts was wonderful & after the last sessions ended at 5p, we all headed to the summit wrap and networking session.

All in all, very glad to have gone! We caught up with industry folks like, Laurie Orlov, Donna Cusano, Susan Ayers Walker, Karen Klein – fellow tech colleagues & agetek members: halo, mygait, presto, wellcore, verizon, jnl technologies, home instead…

and of course my fellow AgeTek board members: Peter Radsliffe, Michele Ahlman, Jill Gilbert, Bud Myers

Consider joining us at EHX 2010 as an attendee or home health tech exhibitor

WHY ATTEND EHX AS A DEALER???

GrandCare is sponsoring the Home Health Technology Pavilion and will be speaking on a few of the educational tracks! We are seeking both tech vendors and dealers to come and join us and learn why they cannot afford to not ride the aging tsunami!!

Have you heard the news — EHX has dealers from every state in the country registered to attend the show in Orlando. That’s right; they see and understand the overwhelming value of attending EHX Spring, March 25-27, 2010. Can you afford not to get in front of 2,000 dealers who have paid a registration fee to attend the show? We don’t think anyone can really pass up this year’s event. We’ve overcome all your concerns, so come jumpstart your year by exhibiting.

The dealers won’t pay to attend an expo?
That’s an easy one. EHX is more than an expo; it’s the path to growth. Serious dealer are registered and they are coming to Orlando. Over 1,500 CEDIA classes have already been reserved as part of the New Opportunities Pass. Believe us when we tell you dealers see the value.

57% of EHX attendees are Executive Management
A total of 68% hold Management titles

EHX is not in my budget
We’ve developed lots of ways to help you get in the show. Just ask us. We have discounts on hotels and reductions in your contractor costs to help you out. In addition, we have cost effective turn-key exhibit options that can be staffed with just a single person. You need to be there, so let’s talk!

Where’s the quality?
Another easy one. Did we mention that everyone is paying to attend EHX Spring this year? That means there are serious decision makers attending show. It’s not about the quantity; it’s about the quality.

58% of pre-registered attendees are final decision makers
A total of 84% have a role in either recommending, specifying, or deciding on new products or vendors

Get involved with EHX and find new business in 2010.
