GrandCare’s Laura Mitchell chosen as CEA Mark of Excellence Judge

GrandCare’s Vice President of Business Development, Laura Mitchell, has been selected as a CEA Mark of Excellence Judge!

The Mark of Excellence System Integrator Awards Program recognizes the best in custom integration and installed technology. There are 14 categories in which custom installers can submit projects for.  The judging begins in early October and the winners are announced at the Mark of Excellence Systems Integrator Awards Reception in January 2013 during the International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mark of Excellence Judging Process

Each TechHome Mark of Excellence Systems Integrator Awards category has a four-member judging team comprised of systems integrators, manufacturers, members of the trade press or industry consultants. Each entry is given a numeric score. The top scoring entries in each category will be named TechHome Mark of Excellence Systems Integrator Awards finalists. The entry with the highest score in each category will be named a TechHome Mark of Excellence Systems Integrator Awards winner.

The judging process is conducted online. During the judging process judges will evaluate the entries and conduct teleconference calls with Team Leaders to confirm entries due diligence.

A significant part of her role was to bring the product to market in 2006 through the development of a nation-wide distribution network, while receiving brand recognition throughout the industry. Laura specializes in Social Media and non-traditional, guerilla marketing. She was a 2011 recipient of the Flame Award for Excellence in Leadership and Innovation from Silicon Valley’s, What’s Next Innovation Awards.

Laura speaks throughout the country on digital home health, mitigating hospital readmissions using technology, social media and Go-to-market strategies in the aging industry. She was featured by Forbes for her social media strategies and has authored various magazine articles on the digital health market and go-to-market strategy. She speaks throughout the country, educating on the digital health industry. Venues include the AARP National Convention, AHIMA, NAHB, Connected Health Symposium, ASA, CEDIA, CEA Industry Forum, CES, etc. She is a founding member and serves as a Director on the AgeTek Alliance board (, is a key organizer for the EHX and CEDIA Future Home Pavilions and Educational Tracks, and in 2008, created (and still hosts) the industry-wide, Aging and Technology Webinars.
